Saints Row 2 Now Available on PC, Too
THQ’s follow-up finally ships for the PC.

It may have taken a few months, but THQ today announced that Saints Row 2 has finally shipped for the PC and is available on Steam.  Since the game already hit stores for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October of last year, by now most of you already know that this game is the follow-up to 2006 original.  While that game might not have lived up to the “GTA killer” hype, the first Saints Row actually addressed a lot of issues sandbox fans have had with the seminal Grand Theft Auto series for quite some time.  Though the much anticipated GTA IV (which, in turn, addressed many of those issues itself) may have taken a more serious, realistic approach, Saints Row 2 took a different road, become even more wild and crazy than before...and apparently many fans loved them for it.  Among the changes to the series, this time around, were availed even more customization (play as a female), numerous side missions and full-game, online cooperative play, all of which is now available on the PC.  For more information on Saints Row 2, be sure to check out the official press release below:

Developed by renowned open-world developer, Volition, Inc., Saints Row 2 is an open-world action title featuring unrivalled customization, intense combat and both competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes. The game is now available for Windows PC in North America for the suggested retail price of $39.99 and is also available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. The game is expected to ship to retail outlets in Europe on January 23, 2009 and Australia on February 5, 2009.
